CIVICUS, Christian Aid and ACT Alliance jointly invite you to this learning event around the impact of covid on civic space. We will explore recent research by Christian Aid on How covid-19-has-shrunk-civic-space, the latest CIVICUS analysis in the 2022 SOCS (State of Civil Society) report and share ideas and plans for countering this trend, supporting CSOs and alliances, looking for ways to fund civil society and asking how to make digital space more inclusive. Masithethe – Let’s Talk
Masithethe – Let’s Talk is an initiative to engage in intergenerational dialogue between faith leaders and young people on SRHR. The initiative is implemented with partners in Eswatini, Malawi, Mozambique, South Africa and Zimbabwe. Amplifying community voice in Eswatini
Thirty organisations participated in a training session on the Ubumbano Voice App. Ubumbano Voice continues to be a platform for community activists in Southern Africa to share stories of their struggles for dignity and justice. Partner Profile (Prisoners Future Foundation (PFF)
PRISONERS FUTURE FOUNDATION (PFF) is an NGO (Non-governmental Organisation) based in Zambia. This organisation looks into the welfare of inmates, ex-inmates and citizens who have generally come in conflict with the law. PFF has been giving support to both inmates and ex-inmates for over ten (10) years now. The support rendered to its beneficiaries includes building 1×2 classroom blocks at Mumbwa, Kaoma, Mongu, Senanga and Kalabo Correctional Facilities, academic programmes such as literacy, grades one (1) to twelve (12) including their exams, skills training in Computer Studies, power electrical, carpentry, tailoring, general agriculture, bricklaying, metal fabrication, including their exams.

Critical Conversation: Beyond Rhetoric!!
On 28 June 2022, we convened our first ‘Critical Conversation’, which is a space to explore social justice and solidarity practice with the broader social justice and philanthropy sector. We took advantage of our Board meeting on the day, and invited over 20 people to participate in person, and almost 100 via our Zoom and Facebook links. We will publish a summarised video recording of the discussion soon.
