Who We Are
Participatory Education and Action for Community Empowerment (PEACE) is a non governmental organization founded in 2010 by young women and a social worker in response to poor health outcomes, climate change challenges, and limited participation in governance and natural resource management at the local level. The organization was established with a vision of a just and prosperous society where rural environments are food secure, resilient, healthy, and sustainable, and where Zambian women can thrive.
Our mission is to reduce poverty, environmental degradation, exclusion from decision making, and poor health outcomes among young women in Zambia by empowering them with knowledge, skills, and opportunities to actively shape their communities and futures.

We support inclusive local governance by encouraging active citizenship, gender and social inclusion, participatory budgeting, policy advocacy, and land rights awareness. We improve community health by raising awareness, building local capacity, and promoting disease prevention, nutrition, and safe water and sanitation practices.
